Other than catching up on must-see movies, I attended a brief highlighter party last weekend. I say brief because I only stopped by for about 40 minutes on my way somewhere else. My friend, J-sizzle, invited me (for the 4th time) and I didn't want to blow him off once again. Plus he and I don't have any classes together so I rarely see him in a school of 30,000 kids. It was fun though cause I met a bunch of cool people..It was exciting, I love meeting new friends! I also have newbie in neon yellow all over my white shirt. Actually I had newbie on there... oh the beauty of laundry detergent.
J-sizzle and I like to dare each other in the 'romantic/interactions with opposite gender' department (it started off thanks to a bold statement he made claiming he's hotter than I am. Ha! Bring it on! Behold the power of cleavage!) It's been an ongoing theme this semester in our friendship and so of course, it presented itself Saturday night. I've been winning though because he's been blown off about 3 times and I've only been blown off once. On my way home, a friend of his announced that he lived in Hawthorn (a residential hall near mine) and asked if he could walk with me and my roommate. We agreed and J-sizzle dragged me to the side and dared me to lead this guy on and get his number.
We ended up at my dorm talking and relaxing. It was refreshing to meet someone new...that is until my roommate 'needed to be alone.' She had been in a strange mood all day so, left alone with this guy, I did the most natural thing a girl would do: I made him watch Shrek.
He was thrilled, I assure you. Watching pixar animation movies are his favorite saturday night pastime.
He only agreed after I begged and declared 3 times that I had never seen it. Needless to say, he is a chatter-box and talked all the way through it. This is why he will be known as monsieur bavard.
I endured most of his small talk, got the number and texted my victory to J-sizzle! Nancy-1, J-sizzle- -30 (okay, fine. -5.)
Most of the talk was pointless after that and when it got to the part where Shrek crashes Fiona's wedding right before she marries Farquaad, I shushed him saying 'be quiet for a second, this is my fav part'
His response? 'I thought you hadn't seen it before'
I assure you, I did have the decency to blush.
I ended the night by accompanying Kendiferous to Subway for a late night dinner and introducing him to Mr.Greek (who is half american, half greek but has never visited greece and grew up in Springfield). Mr.Greek was attempting to rewrite his notes but Kendiferous and I didn't let him get around to it. We talked and laughed for about an hour and I finally returned home at 3:30 AM.
Best weekend yet? Indeed.
